Add up your total number of GCSE grades for the eight best subjects, including English Language and Maths together, then divide by the number of subjects you’ve taken.
Diploma/BTEC qualifications will not be counted towards your Average Point Score.
English Language (Grade 5) = 5 points
English Literature (Grade 5) = 5 points
Maths (Grade 6) = 6 points
Combined Science (Grade 6:6) = 12 points (this counts as 2 subjects)
History (Grade 5) = 5 points
Geography (Grade 5) = 5 points
Total: 38 points divided by 7 = an APS score of 5.4
